Princess Margaret

The royal allowances remained unchallenged until Princess Margaret let a fox into the chicken coup. With her penchant for weak men, she had become romantically involved with an effete young man who had lived with an avowed homosexual. Margaret was forty-three years old when she met Roderic ("Roddy") Llewellyn at a party. He was seventeen years her junior. As the second son of Sir Henry Llewellyn, he was an aristocrat, which was not insignificant to the Princess.

His father seemed amused by their relationship. "You mean Roddy's new friend?" he asked. "Well, it makes a change from his usual Italian waiters."

New York City 1857

The mud . . . grows deeper and more like putty every hour. The people, finding indignation entirely ineffective, are trying to shame Ebling [the city official responsible for cleaning the streets] into a sense of duty. In scores of places, yesterday, they had piled the mud into tombs, mounds and graves, out of which the hats and boots of effigies protruded, and over the heaps placed inscriptions in shocking verse, commenting on the undiscovered virtues of Mayor Wood, and the wretched ineffciency of Ebling . . .

Marfa Film Festival

Bring Warm Clothes!

We're in the high desert out here which means it gets chilly at night. If you're coming to one (or more) of our five outdoor screening events, be sure to dress accordingly. You can bring chairs and blankets if you want, though chairs will be available to rent for three bucks (really comfortable chairs I should add). Still, there's lots of room on the good Earth, so don't be shy about bringing what you need to make a nest to watch the movie from. We'll also have food and beverages, including beer and possibly margaritas for sale.

David Lowery's, "A Catalog Of Anticipations" will screen.

Dennis Hopper in person.

Nuff said?

It was a very good year.

Britney Spears

Britney failed to visit or phone her agent or latest manager upon that day in May. She had just negotiated a deal for herself to paint a series of watercolors for a West German pharmaceutical house, the firm that once manufactured thalidomide.

Dear Betttina ...

It has a good beat and you can dance to it.

You always told me that two of the most important things to remember in life are:

1.) It must have a beat.

2.) Cars ARE important.

Very truly yours,

xxxHarryxxx
